Prince George’s County Police Officer Charged After Drunk Driving Crash in Cruiser

A single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 1 and Tanglewood Drive in Bladensburg on May 19 around 5:15 am result in a Prince George’s County police officer being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI). As reported by, the 38-year-old Prince George’s County Police officer was driving in his marked police cruiser while off duty when he crashed his vehicle.

The responding police officer suspected that the man was under the influence of alcohol and administered a breathalyzer test, which showed an alcohol level of 0.13. The off duty officer was charged with DUI and police are currently investigating the accident. The County State’s Attorney will also review the case.
