Police officers observed that the driver appeared to be uninjured.  The strong smell of alcohol was detected coming from the SUV, as well as from the driver’s breath.  The driver consented to standardized field sobriety tests, which were conducted at the scene, and the driver failed those tests.

Following these tests, the suspect was placed under arrest and issued multiple traffic citations.  The driver was taken to the Greenbelt City Police Department.  When tested further, his blood alcohol content was determined to be .18.
