DUI Homicide Charges Follow Dangerous Speeding Incident in Maryland


SpeedingSpeeding in Lusby, Maryland on a Thursday morning in late December resulted in a fatal crash. A 32-year-old woman was arrested and charged with DUI homicide after she intentionally struck a man’s vehicle, according to police.

The woman was apprehended at approximately 1:32 a.m. and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash, DUI homicide by motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, and various other DUI related charges.  The perpetrator is currently being held at the Calvert County Detention Center on a no bond status.

According to the police report, both vehicles entered an intersection on Maryland Route 4. The Nissan 370 Z hit the back of the Ford Mustang, forcing the vehicle off of the road and into an embankment. After hitting the embankment, the car rolled and landed on its roof.  The male involved was taken to Calvert Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries. The female perpetrator left the scene of the crash, according to the police report.
