A school bus was hit by a drunk driver in Ocean City on Wednesday resulting in a Pennsylvania man facing DUI charges.
At approximately 7:00am on Wednesday, July 20, the school bus driven by Donald Moore of Berlin, MD was hit by a 2015 Lincoln sedan driven by Kyle Alexander Kenney of Orrtanna, PA. The incident occurred on Route 50 on the Harry Kelly Bridge in Ocean City.
After the collision, both vehicles continued a short distance and stopped at Philadelphia Avenue at Talbot Street. Damage to the vehicles was minor and there were no injuries to either driver or to the two children, ages 7 and 8, riding the bus at the time, according to police.
After submitting to field sobriety tests, Kenney was charged with DUI and police reported that he assaulted a trooper while in custody. Kenney was subsequently charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, second-degree assault, DUI, DWI, driving under combined influence and negligent driving. He is being held on a $5,000 bond at Worcester County Jail after appearing before the District Court Commissioner.
