Driving under the influence is serious, and can lead to disastrous results, such as property damage and accidents. For two teens in Baltimore County, a drunk driver is responsible for a crash that resulted in a fatality.
According to the Baltimore County Police Department, a crash last Friday evening resulted in the death of one teen, and the injury of another. The accident occurred on Liberty Road when the perpetrator’s vehicle hit the bike that the two teenagers had been riding. The deadly crash has resulted in the driver of the vehicle, a man from Randallstown, being charged with driving under the influence.
Police said that a young man, 14 years old, was found deceased at the scene. A 19-year-old woman, who was a passenger on the bicycle, sustained life-threatening injuries resulting in her hospitalization. The woman was in stable condition as of Saturday, according to officials.
According to police, the driver’s vehicle and the bicycle were both headed west on Liberty Road, when the car collided with the bike. The driver remained at the scene until police arrived, and was then arrested. He is being charged with driving under the influence, and is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
