Wicomico County DUI Charge Results from Crash

CarA recent accident shows that DUI can result in serious charges, even when only a single vehicle is involved. It also serves as a reminder to stay with your vehicle until police arrive in the event of a crash.

On December 21st, a truck that had crashed into a tree was found on the 6000 block of Heron Grove Court. The vehicle was found unoccupied according to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Deputy who discovered it. The police believe the driver fled the scene.

A nearby pedestrian was suspected to be the driver of the vehicle after being found walking near the scene with several injuries consistent with that of a car crash. According to the police, the suspect smelled of alcohol and refused to consent to any form of sobriety testing.  He is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident, as well as DUI related charges.

If you have been charged with DUI or other related crimes, your first step should be to consult with an experienced DUI or criminal defense attorney. Being convicted of DUI can have a serious impact on the rest of your life and having appropriate counsel on your side can help you achieve the best possible outcome.
