Two Accidents in Calvert County: One Fatal, One Requiring Medevac

TWO ACCIDENTS IN CALVERT COUNTYTwo serious motor vehicle accidents occurred in Calvert County just days apart.  As reported by TheBayNet.com, troopers from Prince Frederick Barrack were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash in Lusby at 4:29 p.m. on May 18.  The crash scene was Route 4 at Nursery Road.  A Ford F-550 truck traveling north in the left lane exited its lane of travel and crashed into a Chrysler PT Cruiser at the stop sign at Nursery Road.  The driver of the PT Cruiser, a resident of Prince Frederick, died as the result of injuries suffered in the crash.  Investigation of the fatal car accident in Calvert County is ongoing and is being conducted by Maryland State Police Trooper First Class Wiesemann from Prince Frederick Barrack.

Another two-vehicle accident occurred May 14 on Route 2/4 in Prince Frederick at approximately 8:00 p.m. in front of Adam’s Ribs.  One motorist had to be extricated from a vehicle by emergency responders.  A medevac helicopter was called to the scene of the accident, landed in the highway, and flew out, transporting the injured victim to the hospital.  At least two others who were seriously injured were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

According to the preliminary investigation, one of the vehicles involved was leaving Adam’s Rib parking lot when the crash happened.  The collision remains under investigation.  Northbound lanes remained closed until 9:30 p.m. when the scene was cleared.
